BaseDirectory.com offers a one-of-a-kind database of businesses and establishments on U.S. military bases. This directory has become a popular tool for service members as they transition their lives and families between bases. I helped build the revamped web front end, the native iOS app and the Android app, while other developers on the Mode Set team helped revamp the Rails backend. The result of our efforts was a substantial increase in traffic and a modernized, unified platform to grow from. A highlight of the project was an invitation to participate in the first ever White House Demo Day, where President Obama met with the Base Directory crew in an effort to promote technological innovation from the highest office. Their efforts were also picked up by Colorado Public Radio in the form of an interview with co-founder Billy Griffin.
